Florida High Tech Corridor Named Winner of Community Innovation Award by Site Selectors Guild

The Site Selectors Guild, an international association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants, honored the Florida High Tech Corridor with the 2023 Community Innovation: Building a Better Business Climate Award for its launch of Cenfluence, the Central Florida clustering initiative. The award recognizes a unique initiative, public policy program, or legislative action that was created and successfully implemented in support of economic development and building a healthier environment for business.

The Florida High Tech Corridor launched Cenfluence in partnership with Orange County, to promote growth throughout regional industry clusters, helping to diversify Central Florida’s economy beyond tourism. Cenfluence fuels high-tech industry growth in four clusters: energy and environmental studies; gaming, entertainment, and e-sports; learning sciences and human performance; and life sciences. Cenfluence provides free support to 100+ Cluster Member companies and is one of only 20 North American cluster management organizations recognized by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform.

“This award recognizes not only the tremendous work of our team, to build and grow thriving clusters but also those leveraging the power of the region in support of Central Florida innovators, who are changing the world with their ideas,” said Paul Sohl, CEO of the Florida High Tech Corridor. “Through Cenfluence we are forging internationally recognized industry clusters and catalyzing the creativity of our region to expand economic opportunity.”

Sohl attended the Site Selectors Guild annual conference in San Antonio to accept the award on March 30, 2023. This is the third-annual presentation of the Community Innovation Award.

“The Florida High Tech Corridor is setting Central Florida up for long-term economic opportunity and the Guild is proud to recognize its strategic development of Cenfluence,” said Gregg Wassmansdorf, Site Selectors Guild board chair and senior managing director, global consulting at Newmark.
