The Corridor continues to promote boundary-breaking collaboration between our trusted, informed, and engaged network of entrepreneurial support systems and innovative businesses from across the region. This guide lists resources who are providing semiconductor and microelectronic companies from across our 23 counties research opportunities, educational programming, talent development, co-working spaces, business support and more. Semiconductor Resource Guide
Central Florida boasts more than 180 companies operating in the semiconductor and related industries, collectively generating an annual revenue of $780 million while providing employment to 7,640 individuals. The Corridor is proud to encourage this exponential growth by partnering with research institutions, economic support organizations, government and businesses in the region to make Florida a destination for semiconductor innovation. In fact, in 2022, The Corridor was a key partner in a consortium that assisted Osceola County in receiving $50.8 million from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) to develop Central Florida’s semiconductor and microelectronics industry cluster and boost the manufacturing capabilities of Osceola County’s 500-acre high-tech campus, NeoCity. As Florida cements its position as a hub for semiconductor and related organizations, the demand for supporting this thriving industry increases. This resource guide is crafted with the intention to equip industry members with avenues for collaboration, connectivity, education and advancement, ensuring their continued success within this explosive region.
Autonomous Florida
The Advanced Materials Processing and Analysis Center (AMPAC) is an interdisciplinary research and education center for materials science and engineering at the University of Central Florida (UCF). AMPAC’s vision is to make UCF an international leader in materials science and engineering research.
BRIDG is a not-for-profit, public-private partnership specializing in digital and RF silicon interposer technology development coupled with advanced packaging capabilities. BRIDG offers R&D expertise and a 200mm microelectronics fabrication facility, geared toward system miniaturization, device integration, hardware security, and product manufacturing key to aerospace, defense, automotive, telecommunications, medical, and the IoT/AI revolution.
Cenfluence, an initiative led by The Corridor with funding support from several government partners, is focused on building an internationally recognized semiconductor industry cluster that is globally competitive resulting in significant contributions to regional and national economies, and national security.
CareerSource Central Florida curates local talent for high demand industries, meeting local business needs and cultivating growth for the Central Florida community. CareerSource supports Upskill Osceola, a project funded as part of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration investment in Osceola County’s semiconductor and microelectronics industry cluster, by providing advanced manufacturing training for job seekers.
Tech Grove is the only innovation center specifically created to foster the development of novel, non-traditional Modeling, Simulation and Training Human Performance solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense. Acting as a bridge between innovators and national security leaders, Tech Grove enables developers to get solutions in front of potential users and collaborators.
CREOL is the College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida. Offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees, CREOL’s vision is to be the world leader in education, research, innovation, and partnership in optics, lasers, and photonics.
Select Florida - Florida Defense Alliance is a statewide effort coordinating among military installations, government and industry players to bring value to the state’s military operations established by Florida Statute 288.980.
The mission of the Florida Photonics Cluster is to support the growth and profitability of the photonics industry through the strength of a unified voice and to make Florida the place to go for photonics solutions.
The Florida Semiconductor Institute (FSI) at the University of Florida is a powerhouse for R&D, innovation and education on-and around emerging materials, chip design, process development, heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging, and assurance and cybersecurity.
IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe. The Orlando Section connects students and local industry members with IEEE and regional opportunities.
iMAPS is a premier, nonprofit membership association, providing channels for communicating, educating and interacting within academia, industry and government.
Manufacturer’s Association of Central Florida’s primary objectives are networking and education, sale opportunities and lobbying. Companies in Florida are able to work together, sharing solutions to common problems, as well as developing joint-venture business efforts.
The National Center for Simulation (NCS) is a not-for-profit trade association with government, academic and industry members operating as an open consortium. The vision of NCS is to be the internationally recognized leader in promoting, protecting and growing the modeling, simulation and training (MS&T) community.
The largest and highest-powered magnet lab in the world, the National MagLab hosts more than 1,000 visiting scientists a year. Researchers use the facilities for free, advancing understanding of materials and new technology, energy, health, the environment and even the universe.
NeoCity is a 500-acre high-tech campus within Osceola County equipped with advanced semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturing capabilities. NeoCity is a dynamic community that convenes collaboration between universities, research institutions and companies to create an ecosystem of smart sensors, photonics and optics. As it expands, it will also create further opportunities for many new, high-wage jobs in the technology field.
Orlando Economic Partnership is focused on building an internationally recognized semiconductor industry cluster that is globally competitive resulting in significant contributions to Central Florida’s economy and the United States’ economic and national security. The Partnership works with local organizations, to become semiconductor cluster members, and leverage synergies within the community, existing regional strengths and a well-established global network to address the specific needs of Central Florida businesses.
Siemens provides custom engineering solutions, helping industry and small businesses by rapidly prototyping solutions for business challenges, testing the return on investment for new ideas and producing end-to-end solutions.
SCALES is a nonprofit organization that seeks to enable new R&D centers and prototyping facilities in the Southeast region.
Established via state statute, Space Florida offers leading aerospace companies unrivaled experience, unmatched financial tools, and an unbeatable location for their new initiatives.
NIMET drives research and educational activities at the University of Florida in all fields of nanoscale science, engineering and technology.
The SCAN lab conducts world-leading research in the security and assurance of electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, health and more. It includes the newest equipment available for micro and nano imaging and manufacturing, integrated circuit microsurgery, electronic instrumentation and testing, and computing.
Valencia College’s Accelerated Skills Training programs focuses on providing intensive, hands-on training designed to help students enter a new career field or advance their current skillset. The Advanced Manufacturing module explores the diverse roles and responsibilities throughout the manufacturing industry that are necessary for success. Students of the program also have the opportunity to acquire industry-recognized certifications after completing the program.
Innovators at the Hub are conducting research with the backing of 5G Ultra Wideband, which enables new discoveries in the areas of health care, autonomous mobility and retail experiences, and fast tracks innovations from idea to experience and action in the community
