FIRST Tech Challenge is a middle and high school robotics competition where students are challenged to build a robot within a set of parameters to play a game. The 2022-23 season game is called Power Play. Teams play in allied pairs in a Blue or Red Alliance and vie for top scores by trying to place the most cones for their alliance on targets around the 12×12 ft. playing field, as well as earn additional points in autonomous and end game periods. Participating students have access to over $80 million in scholarships and learn technical skills like Computer Aided Drafting, Java programming, teamwork and more. Come by the west end of University Mall on January 14 between 11am and 4pm to cheer these Tech Athletes on to a spot at the State Championship in March, and learn how to get more youth involved, and how the professional community can help support.
