Tallahassee, Fla. (July 09, 2012) –Randy Berridge, president and CEO of the Florida High Tech Corridor Council, has been recognized for his invaluable work in economic development, philanthropic work and education and was honored with the 2012 Leadership Florida Distinguished Member Award at the group’s annual meeting on June 29. The award is presented to a Leadership Florida® member whose leadership activities and exemplary character illustrate the highest standards of the organization. This award honors a member whose activities garners results and leaves a lasting impact on the state of Florida.
For his work in regional economic development through the Florida High Tech Corridor Council, Berridge was selected two years in a row as one of TechJournalSouth’s “25 Most Influential People in Southeast Tech.” Berridge’s dedication to the education of economics and technology to our entire state and its future is awe-inspiring.
He was appointed as a trustee for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as well as to the board of directors for Workforce Florida. He also serves on the board of directors the Enterprise Florida Stakeholder Council, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the National Entrepreneur Center, the Tampa Bay Partnership, the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator Network, the University of South Florida Technology Incubator, the Florida Photonics Cluster, the National Center for Simulation, Kids House of Seminole County, the Foundation for Florida’s Community Colleges , and the regional board of the American Red Cross.

The Florida High Tech Corridor Council (FHTCC) is a regional economic development initiative of the University of Central Florida (UCF), the University of South Florida (USF) and the University of Florida (UF) whose mission is to grow high tech industry and innovation in the region through research, workforce and marketing partnerships.
